Referring to Sadr, Bush said, "This is one person that is deciding that rather than allowing democracy to flourish, he's going to exercise force," Bush said. "We just can't let it stand."
He said Sadr and his followers "are trying to say, we don't want democracy; as a matter of fact we'll decide the course of democracy by the use of force. That is the opposite of democracy."
